The TED conference happens annually and brings together leading thinkers from across the globe to share their most innovative and creative thinking on some of the world’s problems. The conference, held in Monterey, USA books up over a year in advance but this year for the first time they have started to podcast the best talks. Each is no more than 20 minutes in length and you can browse the full selection here.

Two recommendations to start of are:

1) I was recommended to an excellent talk by Sir Ken Robinson that questions whether education systems around the globe are killing creativity. He claims that creativity in fact is as important as literacy as we move forward into the 21st Century. Interestingly UNESCO states that within the next 30 years more people will graduate than during the whole of the rest of human history.

2) When browsing through the talks I listened to a wonderful, humorous, yet moving talk by Isabel Allende on feminism that I would also recommend.

I fully plan to browse through the list of podcasts and download some more to listen to during my commute to work. Let me know if you find any interesting ones that you recommend. They are constantly adding new talks to the site so it is worth revisiting.
